1969 Robin Hood Sports

Unquestionably the most unappealing bike in the Collection, this 1969 Robin Hood soon found itself as my designated everyday rider after purchasing it at a yard sale for $15. It's definitely not a head-turner, yet, I try to keep it's appearances halfway decent, and it has proved to be the most mechanically solid machine of my fleet, having endured some reasonable abuse with little complaint.

It came complete with a Sturmey-Archer AW hub seized solid, the internals of which were promptly removed and swapped with a recently rebuilt unit from a 1979 AMF Roadmaster's rear wheel. Two new tires and a tune-up later, this Robin Hood was once again rolling down the road.

The 531-frame Raleigh Gran Tourer is slated to replace the Robin Hood as my daily rider.
