Raleigh Super Course, first generation:
1968 Super Course

New Carlton-made Raleigh model for 1968, based essentially on the 1967 Raleigh Carlton. Men's diamond-frame only. Raleigh "Annivesary" oval headbadge used on this model.

1971 Super Course

Ladies' model dropped, blue color dropped from men's lineup. Otherwise identical to '70 model.

1972 Super Course

Simplex Prestige derailers begin showing up in some examples, others spec the original Huret Luxe drivetrains as specified in '71. Otherwise, identical to '71 model.

1973 Super Course

New Raleigh decal scheme applied to Super Course, new Ladies' mixte model added to lineup, Simplex Prestige derailers begin edging out the excess Huret Luxe stock. Brooks B.15 saddle is replaced with the B.17N.

1977 Super Course

Redesigned for 700C wheels, completley new paint scheme & component mix. Mixte model no longer available. Frame sizes and colors revised as well. Downtube shifters dropped in favor of Suntour ratcheting barcon shifters.

1978 Super Course

Suede saddle replaces Brooks B.17N, Red color is renamed "Pearl Red," 27" frame size dropped. Otherwise identical to '77 model.

1979 Super Course

Minor changes for '79: Stamped dropouts replaced with Suntour GS forged dropouts w/integral derailer hanger. Dropouts remain chromed on the "C" shaped Q/R skewer contact point only. Suntour derailer groupset revised, Copper color added to lineup.

1980 Super Course

'84 recieves chrome treatment on forks, headtube, and rear triangle. Main triangle is powdercoated in medium metallic blue (over a rough chrome layer).
